Richmond, BC- The Richmond Chamber of Commerce and MotionPay Technology Inc. announced a launch event for their new groundbreaking partnership, which is designed to provide exclusive access to Richmond Chamber members on merchant services processed via WeChat Pay and Alipay. The event, taking place on April 26th in Richmond, is an introductory breakfast, will feature experts in the field.
Chamber President & CEO Matt Pitcairn commented, “we’ve found that payment solutions are critical for business success, especially for cross-border business.
When we learned WeChat Pay is one of the two largest mobile payment platforms in China, we knew we needed to give our members preferred access to this lucrative market.“
WeChat Pay has 963 million monthly active users and 768 million daily active users. The other major payment platform is Alipay, which, with 450 million registered users and 270 million monthly active mobile users, recorded $1.7 trillion USD total payments in 2016.
Pitcairn continued, “with a cross-border payment solutions combining both WeChat Pay and Alipay, members will be given business access to China’s most widely used payment platforms, which in turn enables these Members to engage commerce with hundreds of millions of Chinese who shop outside of China, and all shoppers worldwide.”
